Hynix shares plunge, blamed on South Korea’s margin-trading liquidation/forced-close algorithm

PANews July 17, PANews reported that Cobo co-founder and CEO Shen Yu said in a post on X that the main reason this week led SK Hynix to record its largest single-day drop in nearly 18 years was not bearish research reports, but rather the liquidation algorithm in the Korean market and the margin top-up (follow-up margin) mechanism. He noted, “In Seoul, the margin top-up line is your volatility,” and urged investors to pay attention to the relevant leverage and margin data.
