Shanghai AI Laboratory releases the new-generation scientific discovery platform "Shu Sheng · Duan Yan"
PANews July 17 — According to Xinhua News Agency, the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory released an upgraded version of its scientific discovery platform, “ShuSheng · DuanYan,” at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. It is designed for real scientific research tasks and completes the full workflow from hypothesis proposal to experimental verification. The platform connects scientific large models, professional analysis tools, experimental data, and embodied automation equipment, enabling coordinated work across stages such as conference notes, literature search, proposal design, computational screening, automated experiments, and result feedback. By introducing an independent review intelligent agent to verify cited materials and the calculation process, it aims to reduce the risk of AI hallucinations. The platform is currently being deeply applied in the fields of life sciences and materials science, and will later expand to more disciplines.
