He told his childhood friend and Cat Brother: Every time his dad came back from a business trip, he would secretly call him into the room, slip him 50 RMB pocket money, and then quietly say, “Make sure your sister doesn’t find out.”

Cat Brother has a childhood friend. He’s the older brother. He has a younger sister, but the two of them had always felt since childhood that their parents were fair to them. They even felt their parents loved them the most 😱. There had never been any fighting over favoritism, which made Cat Brother find it extremely strange 😱.

Because in almost every family Cat Brother knows that has siblings, nearly 90% believe their parents are biased. At least some of the time, arguments and disputes come up because of things like that. In serious cases, when they grow up, they even end up going so far as to have nothing to do with each other.

Until one time, Cat Brother was chatting with the two of them, and realized the situation was like this!

Cat Brother’s childhood friend said:
Every time his dad came back from a business trip,
he would secretly call him into the room.
Slip him 50 RMB,
and then say in a low voice:
“Don’t tell your sister.”

He’d been under the impression all along
that he was the one who was most favored in the family,
until many years later,
when he once chatted with his sister.
His sister once jokingly laughed and bragged to him, saying:
“Dad used to favor me the most. Every time he would secretly give me 50 in pocket money, and tell me not to tell you.”

He froze for a moment
and then realized
that what his dad told him, what he did—
was exactly the same as what they were told and what he did. 😂

After Cat Brother learned all about it, he found one thing:
maybe the truly great parents
never just make sure that everyone gets an even share,
but instead make it so that
every child feels that they are the one
who’s been secretly favored 🤣.

Do you have siblings? Do you think your parents have ever shown favoritism?
