Trump’s teleprompter operator used the president’s speech script to place bets and earned more than $100k.

On Kalshi, there’s a category of bets that specifically wagers on whether a certain word will appear in a presidential address.
And this guy, who has been in charge of Trump’s teleprompter since 2016, is usually one of the last people to review the content before the official speech script is taken onstage.
It’s said that in the recent three months, he placed bets on more than a dozen Trump speeches—State of the Union addresses, his remarks at Davos, and even the speeches made when awarding honors.
Once, when Trump suddenly went off-script and skipped a few lines without saying them, this guy realized that the word he’d bet on didn’t appear and exited the relevant bet before the speech had even ended.
Kalshi found this pattern of betting operations unusual. Following the account, it discovered that behind it was actually a White House staffer, and then turned the materials over to regulators.
Now, Trump already knows about it and personally decided to put him on unpaid leave, and the account has also been frozen. Although he’s made more than $100,000 on paper, most of it likely hasn’t been collected yet.
