According to CNBC, U.S. federal regulators are investigating a script prompter operator who is suspected of using remarks related to President Donald Trump to place bets on the prediction market platform Kalshi. The individual may have used information from advance access to the content of Trump’s public speeches to bet on Kalshi about whether statements related to Trump will be released or will include specific wording. Robert DeNault, Kalshi’s executive director, said that after conducting an internal investigation, the exchange promptly identified the relevant activity, submitted related trading leads to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and is currently cooperating with regulators by providing evidence it has collected.

Even Wall Street doesn’t dare to play games like this.

Didn’t expect that even a teleprompter operator could get involved in insider trading—truly hard to guard against. The Kalshi platform can proactively detect and submit evidence, which shows that compliance is doing well, but these kinds of incidents also expose regulatory loopholes in prediction markets.
