According to CNBC, U.S. federal regulators are investigating a script teleprompter operator who is allegedly placing bets on the prediction market platform Kalshi using remarks related to President Donald Trump. The individual may have used information obtained in advance of Trump’s public speeches to bet on whether Trump-related statements would be released or would include specific wording on the Kalshi platform. Kalshi CEO Robert DeNault said that after conducting an internal investigation, the exchange promptly identified the relevant activity, filed trading leads with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and is currently cooperating with regulators by providing evidence that has been collected.
