A teleprompter operator is suspected of placing bets on Trump’s remarks on Kalshi, and the US CFTC is investigating
BlockBeats, July 16, according to CNBC, a script prompter operator is under investigation by U.S. federal regulators for allegedly placing bets on the content of remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump on prediction market platform Kalshi.
Kalshi’s enforcement lead, Robert DeNault, said the platform’s monitoring team quickly flagged the relevant transactions after an internal investigation and referred them to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
DeNault said Kalshi is assisting regulators with the investigation and has already submitted relevant evidence collected by the platform.
