ME News, April 26 (UTC+8). Two South Korean men in their 30s, both active-duty Army special operations command non-commissioned officers, were sentenced on April 26 by the Changwon District Court to 2 years in prison each for illegal operation of unreported virtual-asset exchanges during their service and for assisting drug-trafficking money laundering, along with fines of 54.69 million KRW. The investigation showed that from 2023 to 2024, the defendants operated an illegal trading platform via Telegram. They assisted buyers a total of 90 times to convert about 54.69 million KRW in drug payments into virtual currency and transfer it to the sellers. (Source: Foresight News)
