After you have money, you’ll find that traveling doesn’t actually require making plans to save money. Even in Switzerland, where everything is so expensive, you can book a place for tonight and tomorrow night. When you go out, you can order whatever you feel like eating without having to be careful. The time and energy you save can be put into the trip itself—simply enjoying the scenery along the way. People become more gentle, and your mind becomes calmer. But it’s different from when you don’t have money: happiness isn’t that simple anymore. Or, to put it another way, there’s less and less thrill and excitement, because most of the things you want can be bought with money—and you can get them immediately, right now. There’s no need to wait, so you lose that sense of anticipation.

Doesn’t everyone feel something similar?
