Kalshi says U.S. CFTC and Michigan state orders have put it in a “difficult position with no way out”

Golden Finance reported on July 15 that, in response to the U.S. CFTC’s Tuesday order blocking Kalshi’s emergency motion to cancel trades in Michigan, Kalshi’s legal counsel Robert DeNault said the company had already canceled the relevant transactions in accordance with a June 29 order from the Michigan court. He said it was disappointed with the CFTC’s ruling and believed it was unfair to Kalshi. DeNault added that Kalshi was put in a “no-win situation” — forced to comply with the state court’s order while also facing a dilemma created by conflicts with federal regulatory obligations, leaving it with “no choice.”
