Litecoin fixes a vulnerability in the MWEB privacy layer

ME News: On April 26 (UTC+8), Litecoin said its MimbleWimble Extension Block (MWEB) privacy layer suffered a zero-day vulnerability, which caused some non-updated nodes to validate invalid transactions and trigger a denial-of-service (DoS) attack on mining pools. The attacker used this vulnerability to move funds to a third-party decentralized exchange (DEX). Subsequently, the network reorganized and rolled back the related invalid transactions after about 13 blocks; normal transactions were not affected. The vulnerability has now been patched and the network is back to normal. (Source: MLion)
