Humanity’s first time being cheaper than software? Hebbia CEO says 80% of Tokens are being wasted

ME AI According to Beating monitoring, Hebbia CEO George Sivulka posted on the investor a16z, saying that many companies integrate large numbers of Agents but fail to clearly explain the tasks, materials, and acceptance criteria. Agents can only repeatedly retry and revise answers. The more tokens they spend, the more costs they incur, yet the amount of work actually completed is very limited. He even estimates that currently about 80% of the tokens do not produce real value. He believes that, on average, humans are still cheaper than tokens. AI’s advantage is that it is easy to replicate. As long as the process is clear enough, a useful Agent can batch tasks, and the average cost may end up lower than hiring people. Hebbia mainly provides an enterprise AI platform for investment banks, asset management firms, and law firms, enabling Agents to read large volumes of documents and complete complex work such as research and due diligence. a16z previously led the $130 million B round financing for Hebbia.
