ME AI News: Apple is evaluating PrismML’s technology. The startup claims the technology enables deep compression of high-performance AI models, allowing them to run directly on iPhones, with memory usage reduced by up to 15 times. This technology breakthrough could make it possible for more AI computing to be done locally on mobile devices without sending requests to the cloud, thereby speeding up Siri and strengthening user privacy protection. If all of the performance that PrismML claims is fully realized in real-world tests, the technology could reshape market demand for memory and data-center computing power; however, analysts say that the AI industry overall will still continue to consume a large amount of chip resources.
