🔥 🔗 OpenAI puts prediction market odds into ChatGPT, the interface between AI and crypto is closing

OpenAI quietly moved Kalshi’s World Cup odds into ChatGPT search results. This isn’t just a feature update—it’s the first native interface between AI and prediction markets becoming real.
Over the past two years, prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi have been trying to prove the value of “wisdom of crowds,” but the biggest bottleneck has always been user reach. Now OpenAI solves that with a search box: users don’t need to open any crypto apps, and they don’t even need to know what prediction markets are, to see odds and participate directly.
For the crypto market, this means two things. First, prediction market users will expand from on-chain players to ChatGPT’s monthly active users—an order-of-magnitude jump. Second, AI as an information distribution channel is reshaping the direction “signals” flow: in the past, traders actively sought out data; now AI pushes data to users.
But the risks are equally clear. Kalshi is a compliant CFTC-regulated market, and OpenAI’s involvement may further reinforce the path of “centralized prediction markets,” putting decentralized alternatives like Polymarket at a disadvantage in the fight for traffic. If AI only promotes one platform, it is effectively playing the role of an “oracle”—and that oracle is private.
The interface has closed. Next comes the question: will AI choose to open multiple prediction markets, or only bind to one?
