AIMPACT message, April 25 (UTC+8). Gartner predicts that in 2026, global IT spending will follow a “trim the AI garden” trend. Enterprises will shift from blind expansion to targeted investment, focusing on AI application scenarios that can deliver clear business value, and phasing out low-return projects. Growth will be driven mainly by AI infrastructure (GPU servers, cloud AI services) and AI software (generative AI platforms, intelligent automation tools), while spending growth in non-AI areas will slow down. Gartner advises enterprises to establish AI portfolio management mechanisms to evaluate ROI and pay attention to hidden costs such as energy consumption, data preparation, and regulatory risks, emphasizing that in 2026, IT budgets will be fine-tuned around AI value.
