ME News — On July 13 (UTC+8), Mitsubishi UFJ analyst Lee Hardman said in a report that if data released on Tuesday shows that U.S. June core inflation pressures are still at a moderate level, the U.S. dollar could weaken. He noted that the market will closely watch the second-round impact of the rise in energy prices on core inflation. He said that since the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq conflict, the core inflation rate has only inched up slightly. “If the core inflation data again remains moderate while energy inflation eases somewhat, market participants are likely to dial down expectations for the Federal Reserve to further raise interest rates, which would curb the dollar’s strength over the coming week.” (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)
