Cursor, a company that makes AI tools for coding, is developing a universal AI agent with an internal code name 'Sand', capable of replying to emails and text messages, organizing spreadsheets, and handling engineering-related tasks.
This is an office and corporate assistant for non-developers.
Cursor’s move is aimed at diversifying its product lineup, and it is expected to support the business AI of SpaceX.
Earlier, SpaceX announced that it would acquire Cursor in a stock deal valued at roughly $60 billion, with the deal expected to close in the third quarter.
Cursor has not yet decided whether to launch the agent, and its product roadmap could be affected by the acquisition process.
