ME News, Monday, July 13 (UTC+8): South Korea’s stock market fell. The Korean exchange triggered a circuit breaker mechanism for the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), pausing trading in KOSPI index constituent stocks for 20 minutes. Around 1:28 p.m. local time that afternoon, or 12:28 p.m. Beijing time, the Korean exchange activated a full-market circuit breaker after the KOSPI index dropped more than 8% from the previous trading day’s closing price. Previously, the United States and Iran broke out a new round of clashes over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. (Source: ODAILY)
