Talk about the incident of houses being submerged by a downpour. For example, if a rural house is 3 meters tall:

Situation 1: When the house is on flat ground, under extremely heavy rainfall conditions (200–300 mm per hour), it would take 15 hours for the house to be submerged. If the house is located in a low-lying depression, it would take 10 hours.

Situation 2: If a reservoir releases water or breaches, it could submerge nearby villages’ houses within 1 hour or less.

Other general knowledge: China is one of the countries in the world with the most reservoirs. According to publicly released data from the water resources authorities, China has already built about 95k reservoirs, with a total storage capacity exceeding 1 trillion cubic meters. In Guangxi there are about 4,584 reservoirs, in Hebei about 4,000, and in Henan about 2,511.
