Base co-founder: AI Agents will be the next wave in the crypto payments space

AIMPACT message, on April 25 (UTC+8), Base co-founder Jesse Pollak said in an interview that AI Agents are quickly gaining autonomy and need a native, programmable payment system, which will drive the development of the agent economy. x402, an open-source payment protocol, is one of the key pieces of infrastructure. It enables AI Agents to make global, instant, low-cost payments via a single API call or smart contract invocation. Currently, x402 has generated around $48 million in payment volume, with about 95% occurring on the Base network. (Source: Foresight News)
