Brother Mao used to meet a Chinese girl while studying Thai in Bangkok.

She really looked very pretty, but she wasn’t the type Brother Mao liked (even though she was pretty, Brother Mao thought she was too skinny 🤣).
One time, she suddenly asked me, “Do you think I’m not good-looking?”
Brother Mao smiled and said:
“No, no.”
“You’re very pretty.”
She went on to ask:
“Then why don’t you treat me a little better like other people do?”
-(Because Brother Mao was always very cold toward her, giving her short answers and not really responding.)-
Brother Mao froze for a few seconds, because he hadn’t expected her to ask this out of the blue.
He answered with his true thoughts, because he didn’t want to lie:
“Because I don’t want to pursue you.”
“And I don’t want to get anything from you.”
“So whether you’re good-looking or not has nothing to do with us.”
Later, it seemed she was really angry.
She went around behind my back asking if I don’t like girls 🤣.
Brother Mao thought:
Maybe sometimes.
Maybe people can’t really accept rejection.
More likely, they can’t accept this:
That someone actually doesn’t need her approval?
