When facing new things, the biggest obstacle is often not ignorance, but overreliance on existing knowledge. Rich experience should help us understand the world, but when experience turns into a rigid framework, it causes people to actively filter out new possibilities that don’t fit past understanding. This phenomenon of “rejecting future change with past successful experience” is, at its core, a cognitive trap.
