ME News message: On July 12 (UTC+8), a 41-year-old Russian man (name abbreviation AI) was kidnapped in Bali and forced to hand over his cryptocurrency account. While he was riding a motorcycle to get off work, a black Nissan Serena stopped him. Two masked attackers bound him with plastic handcuffs, covered his head, and took him to a two-story house. The man was held captive for about 30 hours, during which he was subjected to violence such as being punched and kicked. The attackers forced him to provide the passwords to his cryptocurrency accounts, stole his phone, and used a villa key they took from his motorcycle to enter his residence, take his second phone, and gain further access to his accounts. Around 4:00 a.m. on July 4, the man was dumped near Jimbaran’s Udayana University Hospital and received treatment. Bali Police spokesperson Ariasandy confirmed that they had received the report and are actively pursuing the suspects. (Source: PANews)
