Why do biographies of successful people always have a “chance encounter” that changes their lives? Many people think success comes from hard work, ability, and vision. But when you look back at many success stories, you find that what most often changes the trajectory is an opportunity at some key point. It’s just that biographies usually gloss over it; from the perspective of outcomes, it looks like coincidence. But from the perspective of the process, it actually comes from variables built through long-term accumulation. Opportunities are not something you wait for—they arise as you continuously expand your connections with the world.

First, proactively increase the variables in your life: meet more people, try more things, and raise the odds of encountering key opportunities.

Second, proactively create value for others. Use your abilities, time, and resources to build connections, so others have a reason to know you and trust you.

Third, continuously demonstrate your abilities and achievements, so your value becomes visible to more people. Many people are afraid to expose themselves and choose to quietly wait for recognition, but the reality is: without being seen, ability is hard to turn into opportunities.

In essence, true opportunities aren’t luck falling from the sky—they’re inevitable results generated by probability accumulating through enough action, connection, and visibility.
