ME News: July 11 (UTC+8), Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy, said in a social media post that the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) has officially applied to the court to intervene in the highly discussed “Noah Doe (Noah Doe)” case, and will participate in the lawsuit as the defendant. BPI said that its application is made pursuant to relevant provisions of New York State’s Civil Practice Law and Rules, and that it has never previously filed a similar application with any court regarding the matter.

According to the filed documents, in the proposed answer, BPI fully denies the main allegations in the plaintiffs’ complaint, only acknowledging that the plaintiffs are trying to seek a declaratory judgment through this case. For other claims, BPI either denies them or states that it lacks sufficient information to form a judgment.

BPI also introduced that the institute was established in 2021. It is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., in the United States. It focuses on researching the policy and social impacts of Bitcoin and emerging currency networks, conducts independent research, and is not influenced by industry participants such as cryptocurrency companies or trading platforms.

The case has drawn significant market attention because it involves an anonymous individual allegedly attempting to obtain massive Bitcoin ownership—claimed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto—through legal proceedings. With BPI’s application to intervene as a defendant, the institute said it will oppose the plaintiffs’ related requests and urge the court to dismiss the entire lawsuit. (Source: BlockBeats)
