ME News: On April 25 (UTC+8), Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that after a possible peace agreement between Iran and the United States, Turkey may consider participating in mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz. After an agreement between the US and Iran is reached, a technical team is expected to carry out the mine-clearing work in the strait. Turkey, in principle, regards such operations as a humanitarian responsibility and has a positive attitude. If this kind of technical multinational alliance becomes a party to a new round of conflict in the future, Turkey will reassess its position. He believes that issues related to Iran’s nuclear program can be addressed in the next round of talks to be held in Pakistan. (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)
