ME News reported on April 25 (UTC+8) that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that after a possible peace agreement between Iran and the United States, Turkey could consider participating in mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz. It is expected that after a U.S.-Iran deal, a technical team will carry out mine-clearing work in the strait. In principle, Turkey views such operations as a humanitarian responsibility and has a positive attitude. If, in the future, this kind of technical multinational alliance becomes a party to a new round of conflict, Turkey will reassess its position. The issues related to Iran’s nuclear program could be resolved in the next round of talks to be held in Pakistan. (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)
