Wu said he learned that, according to analysts monitored by Specter, the well-established blockchain Hedera Network is suspected to have been attacked. At present, more than $4 million in assets has already been bridged via LayerZero to the Ethereum network. After completing the cross-chain transfer, the attacker is converting the stolen WBTC into ETH, and users are advised to closely monitor the related risks.

Another cross-chain bridge problem—Hedera users must be really panicked right now. It’s recommended that the official team quickly issue a statement.

Specter’s monitoring is quite timely, but the attacker has already swapped out the ETH, making the process of recovering losses even more difficult (+1).
