ME AI message, July 11 (UTC+8): Scientists at the University of Oxford have developed an artificial intelligence tool that can predict the risk of heart failure up to five years in advance. The study analyzed data from 72,000 patients in England, and the tool identified warning signs of heart failure danger with 86% accuracy. By analyzing patients’ medical records and lifestyle indicators, the tool assesses the risk of developing the disease within the next five years. Globally, more than 60 million people have heart failure, a condition in which the heart cannot effectively pump blood to circulate throughout the body. Experts say that detecting cases before they progress to heart failure would be a major breakthrough, allowing doctors to prepare better and manage the disease at earlier stages—or even prevent it entirely. The technology is expected to change how cardiovascular disease is prevented and reduce the burden on healthcare systems.
