Bank of America says that the U.S. June CPI could fall due to a drop in gasoline prices

Golden Finance reported that on July 11, analysts at Bank of America Securities said in a report that the US overall CPI for June may decline 0.09% month over month, partly due to a sharp drop in gasoline prices. They added that, however, core inflation should remain at a high level of 0.28% month over month or 2.9% year over year, in part because demand related to the World Cup is driving up services-sector inflation. “Based on this forecast, we expect core PCE to be slightly stronger than CPI again.”
