Japanese Financial Minister: Plans to move forward with the approval of cryptocurrency ETFs in Japan

ME News — On July 10 (UTC+8), Japan’s Finance and Financial Services Minister, Aoi Katayama, said during the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the “OpenQUICK 2026” seminar hosted by the financial information services company QUICK that, amid the continued expansion of overseas crypto-asset ETF trading, he hopes to advance research related to lifting the ban on crypto-asset ETFs in Japan. Japan is currently working on legislation to first bring cryptocurrencies under the regulatory framework of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. (Source: ChainCatcher)
