That’s at least what researchers at Ledger Donjon claim they managed to do by disrupting a Tangem card’s firmware verification in order to reset its access code, set a new password controlled by the attacker, and then authorize transactions.
The attack, however, requires physical access to the card and specialized equipment, but the flaw would be impossible to fix on cards that have already been sold, since their firmware is not upgradable.
