It’s going to blow up! Trump made more than 21,000 trades in a year, Charles Schwab has become a “money printer,” and retail investors in $BTC and $ETH should wake up.
Let's talk about something that might give you pause—Trump executed over 21k trades in 2025. How many times do you trade in a year? He averaged nearly 60 trades a day. This isn't him personally trading stocks; it's an automated machine called "direct indexing" running, with Charles Schwab as the financial institution behind it.
First, the data source. Market analysis shows that the Trump family investment account saw a surge in trading activity in 2025, totaling over 21k trades for the year. After Trump returned to the White House in early 2025, the family began using automated trading strategies. A spokesperson said this move was intended to alleviate concerns about potential conflicts of interest.
Most of Trump's wealth is held in a revocable trust, with him as the sole beneficiary. His son, Donald Trump Jr., serves as trustee with independent voting rights. A White House spokeswoman stated: "All of the President's assets are held in discretionary accounts managed by independent third-party financial institutions, with no conflict of interest whatsoever." Trump himself has said that during his term, his sons handle the investments.
The key question: how does this machine work? Automated trading amplifies the scale of buying and selling. The latest financial report shows over 21k trades last year. Charles Schwab is one of the core asset management institutions. Among the eight accounts in Trump's annual financial disclosure, the account managed by Schwab, labeled only as "Account Seven," holds the most funds. UBS and JPMorgan Chase are also involved.
The strategy is called "direct indexing"—buying individual stocks that track an index (like the S&P 500 or Schwab 1000 Index) while generating losses through trading to offset capital gains taxes. This strategy involves continuously buying and selling in large volumes throughout the year, and any new cash inflows are quickly redeployed.
In August of last year, a New York appeals court overturned a roughly $500 million fraud penalty imposed by State Attorney General Letitia James against the Trump family business. Previously, the Trump trust had set aside funds in Schwab accounts to pay the fine, and the ruling freed up the cash. Within days, the automated strategy bought and sold dozens of stocks heavily, with "Account Seven" leading in trading volume.
Last year, Schwab also provided the Trump trust with a credit line of over $50 million secured by pledged assets. Note: such loans cannot be used to purchase additional securities.
The trust arrangement is fundamentally different from a true "blind trust." Melissa Rodriguez, a partner at Day Pitney LLP, pointed out that in a blind trust, an independent trustee has full control and the beneficiary does not know what is being bought or sold. But Trump uses a revocable trust, which is essentially an estate planning tool, and he still retains control.
Eric Trump issued a statement saying all investment decisions are executed independently by financial institutions, with the family not involved. But the financial report shows that in 2025, the eight accounts held at least $858 million in assets, more than quadrupling from $237 million the previous year. The report also shows Trump earned $2.2 billion in revenue in the first year of his second term, primarily from crypto—yes, the Trump family netted $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency in 2025.
This is the key connection: stock investment losses generated by the direct indexing strategy can be used to offset capital gains in the portfolio, including gains from crypto assets and business sale proceeds. Matt Chancey, founder of Tax Alpha, confirmed this.
When market volatility intensified, trading volume surged. In early April, Trump announced tariffs against nearly all U.S. trading partners, sending the stock market into a sharp downturn. On April 3 and 4, the investment account bought and sold hundreds of stocks; on April 8, it made large purchases, with about 80% of trades occurring in the Schwab account. Then, on April 9, the tariffs were postponed for 90 days, and the S&P 500 closed at an all-time high by the end of June.
Trump's own policies create trading opportunities, which are then used by the automated strategy to generate tax benefits for himself and his family, while simultaneously betting on crypto assets to earn $1.4 billion. You think this is just political news? It directly impacts market sentiment for $BTC and $ETH . When the president can use automated trading combined with crypto gains to legally avoid taxes, what reason does regulation have to stop it?
Charles "Chuck" Schwab, founder of Charles Schwab, occasionally appears alongside Trump, advocating for government-backed retirement plans. Trump mentioned the system in the Oval Office on Monday. Everything is accelerating.
Retail traders are still staring at K-line fluctuations, but smart money has already started arbitraging policy. This machine operates every second, and your counterparty could be the president's trust account.
Wake up.
