Logan: Voluntary central clearing mechanism can enhance Fed's operational efficiency

ME News, July 10 (UTC+8), Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan said that if the Federal Open Market Committee conducts open market operations through a voluntary central clearing mechanism, it would help improve operational efficiency and effectiveness and enhance U.S. financial market stability. She noted that such arrangements could improve the use of Fed tools, such as the standing repo facility, which is designed to provide liquidity to eligible financial institutions, but market usage remains low.
