[ME AI] According to Beating monitoring, the open-source personal AI agent project OpenClaw has announced that its non-profit foundation, OpenClaw Foundation, is now officially operational. OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant that runs on users’ own devices. It can connect to email, calendars, chat tools, and local applications, allowing the AI to directly complete tasks for users. The foundation will handle OpenClaw’s governance, funding, community, and long-term maintenance, ensuring the project remains open source and independent. The official statement says OpenClaw will continue to be licensed under MIT. Peter Steinberger will continue to lead the project’s direction, especially technical decisions. OpenAI has also pledged to support OpenClaw as an open, independent project. The first batch of partners includes OpenAI, NVIDIA, Microsoft, the University of Michigan, GitHub, Cloudflare, Vercel, and others. Chinese company Tencent is also on the list, mainly providing support related to security, deployment, and infrastructure. (Source: MLion)
