ME News News, July 9 (UTC+8), French compliant crypto platform Bull Bitcoin has filed an urgent lawsuit with the French Council of State (Conseil d'État), requesting the annulment of Decree No. 2025‑1276, which localizes the EU DAC8 crypto tax information exchange directive. The decree requires all EU crypto service providers to annually report complete user identity information, residence, transaction details, and transfers to self-custody addresses starting from 2026, and automatically exchange such data among tax authorities of the 27 member states. Bull Bitcoin points out that, given the high transparency of blockchain, this essentially constitutes mass surveillance and data centralization of 40 million to 135 million European residents and their relatives, significantly amplifying risks of hacking and physical extortion targeting coin-holding families. Moreover, there are more prudent peer-to-peer information retrieval alternatives. (Source: PANews)
