Shenchao TechFlow news: On July 08, Gate’s Chinese official X account published a post disclosing details regarding the rumor that “Gate was hacked for $1.7 million.” Gate restored the complete operation timeline for the event. Between July 4 and July 6, the involved account completed multiple identity verifications—such as live facial verification and verification of historical transaction records—to carry out actions including unbinding the phone, resetting the Google verification code, and changing the login password and funds password. On July 7, the account logged in on an old historical device using an old Passkey, and then—after comprehensive identity verification—completed 5 withdrawals, involving approximately 49.96 ETH, 746,475 HSK, and 1,565,982 USDT. On July 8, it was only then that the user reported to customer service that the assets were stolen. Gate emphasized that all operation trails are based on fully retained platform backend data and are traceable and verifiable. At present, users’ assets and account security across the entire site are safe.
