Trump backs cryptocurrency; Bitcoin briefly breaks $64,000
At a Monday press conference, U.S. President Donald Trump was asked whether Bitcoin would be included in the “Trump Account” project. He said, “I’ve already become a crypto enthusiast (a big crypto guy).” Following his remarks, Bitcoin quickly surged, at one point reaching a high of $64,417 overnight.
After six consecutive days of closing higher, Bitcoin continues to trade in a high-level consolidation, with the week still up by about 6%. Ethereum also strengthened in tandem, trading at $1,773, while Dogecoin edged down. The Trump-themed Dogecoin conam staking ecosystem is currently heating up.
