Washington prosecutors announced the termination of the investigation into Powell, and expectations for a Fed rate cut this year have further heated up.

ME News message: On April 24 (UTC+8), U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Pierro announced the suspension of the investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell regarding Federal Reserve building costs. He said that although the investigation has been paused, Federal Reserve spending will be reviewed by the Fed’s Inspector General. In addition, Pierro emphasized that if circumstances require it, he will not hesitate to restart the investigation into Powell. Meanwhile, federal funds rate swap pricing shows that market expectations for the Fed to cut interest rates this year have further strengthened. (Source: MLion)
