NVIDIA's core energy ecosystem partner said: "800V is progressing normally."
ME AI News: As AI servers become increasingly power-hungry, data centers’ power-supply approaches are also being pushed to the threshold of a generational upgrade. The 800V high-voltage direct current, once regarded by Nvidia as a key piece of the next-generation AI data center, has recently become embroiled in controversy over “mass-production delays”: Are cloud providers unwilling to pay the bill, or has the outside world misjudged the pace?
According to Nvidia’s core energy-ecosystem partners such as Delta and ABB, the 800V solution is still being advanced normally. However, what may ultimately determine how quickly this power-supply revolution moves may not be just Nvidia, but an entire energy-infrastructure industry chain that is still not fully mature. Morgan Stanley said that at Nvidia’s GTC Taipei conference, Nvidia has already clearly stated that 800VDC development is progressing normally, and that the associated power rack systems are expected to meet mass-production conditions in the third quarter of 2026. In addition, core supplier Delta Electronics is also expected to deliver initial small-batch shipments of 800V independent power cabinets to leading North American cloud providers in the fourth quarter of 2026.
