CoinWorld News: A latest national poll by the UK’s Financial Times shows that 58% of American voters believe the economic and strategic costs of the military conflict between the Trump administration and Iran are completely not worth it. With inflation staying high and support for the war continuing to increase, the Republican Party’s outlook for the upcoming congressional midterm elections is worrying. The overwhelming majority of American voters believe the current military conflict with Iran is not worth the price in both strategic and financial terms, leaving the current administration with a serious political weak spot. As the results of the poll are released, the White House is seeking an additional $670 billion in federal funding from Congress to cover accumulated war expenditures. Public sentiment fully reflects deep public doubts about how the government has handled the crisis. Only 31% of respondents believe that a series of firefight actions has strengthened the United States’ negotiating position. In contrast, 44% of the public say that this conflict has, in fact, weakened the United States’ leverage in pressuring Iran. Throughout the year, this military operation has significantly driven up the prices of domestic consumer goods and gasoline.
