Brazil v Norway - Will the curse be broken?

It feels like one of the most interesting World Cup games yet. We have Brazil, a world-famous footballing nation and a historic power on paper but history shows a completely different story.

Unbelievably, Brazil have NEVER beaten Norway before, and that sort of stat will be a big headline before the kick-off.

We all know about the threat from Norway going forward, particularly from Erling Haaland who has already hit five goals in the tournament – provide him with an opportunity and he has the capability to completely flip a game on its head within seconds, so the Brazilian defense cannot switch off for a moment. Of course, Brazil can never be underestimated, and in tournament football the biggest nations seem to stand up when there is the most pressure upon them and the creativity in attack should offer chances to break down almost any defense. They have an attack that contains some of the best players on the planet and should get their chances. The problem for me with this market is that because Brazil has “Brazil” on their shirts, people are getting heavily backed towards them.

This feels like an opportunity to go the other way because you need to look beyond reputation.

My prediction?

Brazil to break the duck – it won’t be easy but I expect a really entertaining game with goals. I can see a 2-1 Brazilian win, however if Haaland finds form he could surely get a goal as well.
