Vitalik: Lean Ethereum will advance native STARK and quantum-resistant upgrades

Wu says that he has learned that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that "Lean Ethereum" will be the third major iteration of Ethereum after The Merge and will be gradually rolled out over the next three to four years. Its core directions include integrating recursive STARKs into the protocol's native verification, advancing quantum-resistant solutions, introducing more scalable new state structures, and exploring underlying virtual machines such as RISC-V or leanISA to support programmable privacy and higher scalability. Vitalik also indicated that over the next five years or so, Ethereum will repeatedly increase the gas limit, blob capacity, and shorten the slot time, and it is expected that the Glasterdam upgrade will bring a relatively large increase in the gas limit.

Multiple gas limit increases in 5 years? Layer 2s breathe a sigh of relief, the mainnet is finally catching up.

Recursive STARKs being native to the protocol is a highlight, but with a 3-4 year iteration cycle, other chains won't wait for you.

V God is painting another pie, but this time the pie has quantum resistance and RISC-V, packed with technical density.
