CoinWorld news, Wu learned that the privacy protocol Hinkal updated a security incident, confirming that the attacker extracted approximately 797k USDC from its Ethereum contract through a series of transactions and converted it into approximately 454 ETH. Among them, 410 ETH were transferred to Tornado Cash, and the remaining 44.67 ETH were cross-chained to the Bitcoin network via Thorchain. Hinkal stated that all smart contracts have been suspended to prevent further risks, and this vulnerability is limited to the affected fund pools on Ethereum. The official promises that all affected users will receive full 1:1 compensation, and the specific compensation process and timeline will be announced after the fix solution is verified.

Pause contract + full compensation, response speed is acceptable, but the chain from Thorchain to BTC is a headache to trace.
