# My Gate Trading Moments

Among the countless rounds of buying and selling, there is always one trade that completely reshapes a person's investment logic. It may not be the most profitable trade, nor the worst loss, but it can suddenly enlighten you and help you find a market trading rhythm that suits you. I have been trading BTC spot and event prediction on the Gate platform for a long time. Recently, geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East have continued to escalate. Trump publicly warned Iran that if the Lebanese armed forces continue to provoke conflicts, the U.S. strike intensity will far exceed that of last week. The risk in the Strait of Hormuz is rapidly rising. BTC is currently quoted at $64,513, up only 0.42% in 24 hours, with the market remaining in a wait-and-see mode throughout the session.
Looking through my trading records, I previously followed the trend of popular Meme coins. When I saw a short-term continuous surge, I blindly entered heavy positions. After initial luck with profits, my mentality inflated rapidly, and I kept adding positions to expand my holdings, completely ignoring the project fundamentals and market risks. Eventually, the market quickly reversed, not only wiping out all profits but also causing a significant drawdown on my principal. This trade served as a wake-up call. After that, I adjusted my trading system: strictly build spot positions in batches, never exceed 15% of total assets per position, avoid frequent futures trading, and set all stop-profit and stop-loss levels in advance.
Recently, there have been consecutive upsets in the World Cup: Cape Verde held Uruguay to a draw, Iran drew with Belgium. The prediction market has seen a large number of high-odds results, and many traders around me are eager to jump in for short-term gains. Drawing from my past mistakes, I remain rational. Match results have strong randomness, and just because there have been many upsets doesn't mean I blindly bet on high-odds options. At the same time, on-chain theft incidents have been frequent recently. The Taiko treasury and Ethereum's top arbitrage bots have been hacked one after another, with total losses amounting to millions of dollars. When interacting with contracts daily, I repeatedly verify the contract addresses to avoid asset theft risks.
Recording my trading experiences in Gate Square is essentially a process of reflecting and consolidating after each trade. There are no always accurate market judgments, only continuously improving trading systems. I also want to give some advice to newcomers entering the crypto market: the market never lacks trading opportunities; only by protecting your principal can you survive in the long run. Abandon the speculative mentality of getting rich overnight and establish your own trading rules—this is the core foundation for long-term profitability.
