What You Can And Can’t Know Right Now
I cannot see live gas quotes from your wallet, so I can’t give exact current fees for a 0.01 ETH transfer on zkSync Era, Starknet, and Scroll. What I can do is show you how to get precise numbers yourself and what patterns to expect when you compare them.
Key idea: You want to compare the estimated fee in dollars for the same 0.01 ETH transfer on each network at the same time.
How To Compare 0.01 ETH Transfer Fees
Prepare balances on all three zk L2s
Make sure the same wallet has a small ETH balance on zkSync Era, Starknet, and Scroll.
Confirm that 0.01 ETH is available on each network so the transfer is feasible.
Use the same wallet and recipient
Use one wallet (for example, MetaMask plus the relevant L2 integrations) to avoid UI differences.
Choose a single recipient address you control on each L2, such as a second wallet or your own address on the same network.
Set up the same transaction on each network
On zkSync Era, Starknet, and Scroll, configure a transfer of exactly 0.01 ETH to the chosen address.
Stop on the confirmation screen where the wallet shows the estimated fee, and do not send yet.
Read and convert the fee to dollars
Note the fee in the gas token:
zkSync Era and Scroll generally quote in ETH.
Starknet often quotes in STRK, so your wallet may show the equivalent value in dollars.
If your wallet does not show a dollar value, multiply the fee amount by the current token price to get a USD figure, then compare.
Compare and repeat in different conditions
Put the three dollar amounts side by side to see which network is cheapest for that 0.01 ETH transfer at this moment.
Repeat during both quiet and busy Ethereum gas periods. You will usually find:
When L1 gas is low, all three are fairly cheap, with small differences.
When L1 gas spikes, networks that post more data to Ethereum tend to get more expensive, and differences widen.
Takeaway: The only reliable way to compare transfer fees is to run the same 0.01 ETH transaction on each network, read the live fee estimate in your wallet, and compare those numbers in dollars side by side.
Confidence: Medium.
