ME News report: On April 23 (UTC+8), the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday that last week U.S. crude oil inventories rose, while gasoline and refined oil inventories fell. Due to supply disruptions caused by the Iran war, U.S. total exports reached record levels. The EIA said that in the week ending April 17, crude oil inventories increased by 1.9 million barrels to 465.7 million barrels; the expected figure was a decline of 1.2 million barrels. The EIA also said crude oil inventories at the delivery hub in Cushing, Oklahoma, increased by 806,000 barrels. Despite the unexpected increase in inventories, oil prices still rose.
