Hong Kong's unemployment rate remains at 3.7%, with the number of unemployed rising to over 140k people

Golden Finance reports that on June 16, the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department announced that Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.7% from March to May this year; the underemployment rate also remained at 1.5%.
During the period, unemployment rate changes varied across industries, with declines mainly seen in cleaning and related activities; increases were mainly observed in social work activities and accommodation services. Industry-specific underemployment rates also fluctuated, but the overall changes were generally small.
The total employment number was 3.6393 million, a decrease of about 8,700 people; the total labor force was 3.7803 million, a decrease of about 6,900 people. The unadjusted unemployment number rose to 141.1k, an increase of about 1,900; the underemployment number fell to 56.8k, a decrease of about 1,300.
