The U.S. court has approved the prosecution's schedule for re-trial in the case against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm, planned for this fall to re-examine conspiracy to money laundering and conspiracy to violate sanctions charges. Currently, the court has not yet ruled on Storm's Rule 29 motion, which argues that the prosecution's evidence and legal theories are flawed and requests the reversal of his previous conviction on unlicensed money transmission charges. If the court supports this motion, the related re-trial process may be affected. (The Rage)

The guilty verdict on unlicensed fund transfers is actually quite subtle. Now, the key to overturning it still depends on how the court defines the boundaries of "conspiracy."
