Russia bans 103 Canadians from entering in response to Canadian sanctions

On the evening of the 16th, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on its official website that, in response to Canada’s sanctions against Russia, Russia has banned 103 Canadian nationals from entering the country. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that some Canadian political figures have harmed Russia’s rights and interests and undermined bilateral relations between the two countries. Russia has always respected the Canadian people, but it opposes the current hostile stance of the Canadian government. According to the list released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, those barred from entry include several Canadian lawmakers, as well as former Canadian ambassadors to Russia and Ukraine, among others.
